My Favorite
Christmas Classics
Usually around mid November, I begin to get excited for the Christmas season. As Thanksgiving Day draws to a close, the Christmas season officially begins and out come my favorite books and DVDs. It's all a part of my holiday tradition and the selections below never fail to get me in the Christmas spirit! Let's see if you recognize any of these.

MOVIES

My Thanksgiving evening tradition. It certainly sets the mood for the season.

George Bailey gets a second chance.

I have several adaptations of this wonderful story. This is my very favorite!

Another favorite for it's silliness, yet touching rendition.

A Bing Crosby/Danny Kaye classic that is timeless!

Such outstanding computer animation! Magical!

A classic that makes you believe in the fat, jolly elf.

You just can't beat this for a holiday gone wrong!

BOOKS

I don't think I could go through a season without reading this book!

A less gritty Sherlock Holmes story with a happy ending. And no one gets hurt!

A favorite Miss Read book from her Fairacre series. The first book of hers I ever read.

Touching Christmas adentures from Laura Ingalls Wilder and her Little House series.

Favorite TV episodes

Some of my very favorite stories are from a TV series long cancelled or a DVD series. These are ones that I love to watch over and over. The list is short right now, but more will come to mind, I'm sure

Poirot
Hercule Poirot's Christmas
Series 6

My favorite detective takes a case over Christmas simply because the heat in his apartment has gone out and won't be fixed until after the holiday. The case takes him to a mansion (with heat!) and, of course, a murder is committed that he must solve. There is some very humerous moments between him and Chief Inspector Japp.

M*A*S*H*
Death Takes A Holiday
Series 9

A beautiful, poignant episode involving two story lines. The first has Hawkeye, Margaret and B.J. attempting to keep a mortally wounded soldier alive until after Christmas so that his family won't have to remember Christmas Day in that way. The second show a human, warm side of Major Winchester. One of my favorite episodes of all time.
