1. I was born in Kansas but grew up in upstate New York
2. I've traveled across country twice on a Greyhound bus. (I hope I never have to do it again!)
3. I lived in Tennessee for a short time and I want to move back someday.
4. I am Mom to a silky terrier, Mandy and a shelter kitty - Tabbie.
5. I retired in 2011 from hospice nursing.
6. I used to be a "Trekkie" but not so much anymore.
7. I had to evacuate 3 times in 4 weeks from my home in Florida because of hurricanes in 2004.
8. I love watching "Storm Stories" on the Weather Channel especially the ones about tornados.
9. I was named from Melanie in "Gone With The Wind".
10. I graduated top in my LPN class.
11. My dream vacation destination is Hawaii.
12. I want very much to go on a missions trip some day.
13. I lived about 100 miles from Mount St. Helen's in Washington state when she erupted in the 1980's.
14. Favorite music - contemporary Christian, some classical, some country and also those timeless classics.
15. I tend toward pastel colors especially blues, lavenders and pinks.
16. I have certain favorite movies that I watch over and over again.
17. I have sponsored a girl from Ecuador since she was very little through Compassional International
18. I have a Old Country Roses tea set by Royal Albert that I bought piece by piece from EBay.
19. My favorite authors are Dora Saint (Miss Read), James Herriot (Alfred Wight), and Jan Karon
20. I homeschooled my youngest son from 7th grade until graduation in June of 2001.
21. My favorite "Jesus" movie is the "Matthew" video series with Bruce Marchiano.
22. Macaroni and cheese and hot dogs are still one of my favorite comfort foods.
23. I love the beach, especially waking up hearing the ocean waves.
24. I like to drink Cherry Cokes, Cheer Wine and raspberry iced tea.
25. I balance my check book to the penny every month.
26. I would love to have a garden but am not very good at growing things.
27. My kitchen and living room are furnished country but my bedroom is victorian.
28. I have so many photos to scrapbook I'll be busy forever!
29. If I had it to do over again - I would be a meteorologist or work with animals.
30. My mother lives with me so that I can make sure she is safe.
31. I've been to Disney World more times than I can count.
32. I am a novice quilter and would love to become proficient.
33. Fall is my favorite season followed by spring.
34. I've never gotten a speeding ticket although I've deserved one a few times.
35. I enjoy reading and studying Bible prophecy.
36. I finally have read my Bible all the way through!
